West Ham may well be a point behind Spurs and with a worse goal difference, but the true story points towards Nuno overtaking our rivals.
It’s fair to say that every West Ham fan and most others in football, very much enjoyed watching the capitulation of Spurs in their viral London derby against Crystal Palace last Thursday.
Following our Hammers excellent win against away to Fulham and Nottingham Forest grabbing a point at Manchester City – it was deemed by Spurs a crucial must-win when they faced the Eagles.
Thankfully, it was not delivered by Igor Tudors side, who looked a side heading only one way this season.
The turmoil in north London is not only a pleasure to watch, but it’s one that is realistically providing an escape route for West Ham.
No longer is the thought of us overtaking Spurs a fantasy, it’s one that could and should be realised.
They are in utter chaos whereas West Ham on the pitch look far more settled, organised and ready for the fight.
There are now just 9 games left, and despite our run in, the momentum is firmly in east London.
