Kyle Walker-Peters could be a crucial player for Nuno and West Ham for the remainder of the season.
Since the return of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Malick Diouf from the African Cup of Nations, Walker-Peter’s has barely featured.
However, he started in the FA Cup fifth round tie against Brentford and excelled and I believe he can take that performance and go on to have a great end to the season.
The main positive of KWP is that he is very different to Wan-Bissaka. The former Spurs and Saints man is a lot more calm and assured in possession, and is a lot more tidy in build up. Whereas Wan-Bissaka is slightly less gifted technically but has more pace and energy.
A lot of the time those attributes of Wan-Bissaka are needed, but sometimes, the calmness of KWP is needed. I would like to see the Englishman feature more between now and the end of the season.
Even if it’s off the bench, AWB quite often tires at the end of matches after running up and down the ring all match, and that sometimes makes him slack on his defensive duties, especially at the back post, which is his biggest weakness, he often switches off.
Kyle Walker-Peter’s doesn’t have that problem, and he’s tidier on the ball. So, if in some games we are holding on late on, I’d like to see Kyle come on for Aaron on the right, or maybe even for Diouf out on the left.
