West Ham are hoping to have Crysencio Summerville back for selection against Aston Villa but are remaining cautious, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
The Dutch winger, who has been in fine form for the club this season and is undoubtedly a serious contender for Hammer of The Year, sustained a calf injury in our recent FA Cup 5th round victory over Brentford.
Many feared the worse after seeing Summerville in discomfort, however scans revealed the injury to be minor, however it did rule the player out of our draw against Manchester City at the weekend.
It is now hoped that Summerville will be back available for selection in this weekends clash with Aston Villa at Villa Park, however the club are treading on the side of caution.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, our insider Ex has reported that the player is hopeful however, as he shared this when in the stands to see his teammates collect a huge point in the draw with the Citizens on Saturday.
“At this stage I think its sensible to say that Summerville is a doubt for the Aston Villa game, when speaking to the club,” stated Ex.
“The club are though, leaning more on the cautious side, which is understandable. He is being assessed daily and they are doing everything they can to give him the best chance of returning this weekend.
“Summerville has spoken to a couple if my sources when at the Man City game, and he said that he is hopeful he will be back and be available for selection.”
