West Ham’s eagerness to appoint a new Director of Football could well be a sign that Karren Brady is close to the exit door.

That is the view of The West Ham Way Podcast host Dave Walker, who was speaking after it came to light that regardless of what league we are playing in next season, the club are keen to move back to a model that hasn’t been in place since the departure of Tim Steidten.

Although Kyle Macaulay was Head of Recruitment, it is felt that the desire is to see a formal Director of Football take over, which is likely to be pushed ahead once this season concludes and hopefully we remain in the Premier League.

Speaking of the move, Walker expressed his desire to see this happen, hoping that this will see Brady leave the club and then pave the way for David Sullivan to be close behind her.

“It would be nice wouldn’t it if the club actually made a success of having a Director of Football,” said Walker. “But with anything like this and West Ham.. time will tell.

“I do hope this aligns with the rumours of Brady departing the club this summer. I hope this is true and if so – I shall be counting down the days!”
