Relegation & fierce London rivals Spurs have taken a huge gamble on Roberto De Zerbi, with it unlikely to pay off.

That is the view of The West Ham Way Podcast host Dave Walker, who feels that the North Londoners have opted for a manager who is not designed to motivate players in such a short space of time.

Spurs’ form has been dreadful now for a long time, with the club still winless in 2026 and De Zerbi marks their 3rd manager of the season – with the former Brighton boss only having 7 games remaining.

West Ham like many are hoping the appointment proves just as successful Igor Tudor – who was sacked after obtaining just 1 point in 5 Premier League games in charge.

De Zerbi is under immense pressure and West Ham have the chance to make it even worse, if we beat Wolves next Friday, which would send Kudus & Co into the bottom 3 as they head to a tough game away to Sunderland on the Sunday.

“He doesn’t strike me as a motivator of men and those players need a rocket up their backside,”stated Walker.

“A five year deal is definitely a risk for Tottenham, let’s hope it doesn’t pay off!”
