West Ham right-back Kyle Walker-Peters has been a huge part of the Hammers improved form as of late.
The free signing of the former Spurs man from Southampton hasn’t quite worked out to plan.
The plan would’ve been for him to be back up for last year’s hammer of the year Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
However, he has been a lot more involved than he probably would have expected recently.
Since Wan-Bissaka went away with DR Congo, and returned ‘late’ due to celebrations, KWP has been an ever-present in the right side of defence and he hasn’t looked back.
He’s offered a perfect balance down that right side of the pitch, offering a lot in defence and more than enough in attack.
Everyone knows how solid he’s been recently, but it’s his attacking presence that is underrated.
He always seems to be in the right position, and makes the right decision in attack, two things Malick Diouf could learn on the other side.
As an example for the winning goal on Saturday against Everton, His perfect pass down the line to Bowen started the move. He then made a smart decision, he followed the attack into the box and took up almost a striker position.
This allowed the actual striker, Callum Wilson to find space in the box unmarked to fire home and keep us out of the relegation zone.
He obviously isn’t going to be a hammer of the year contender, because he’s only just got a real run in the team.
However, he will be a key reason for us staying up if we manage it.
