It’s Matchday 35 in the Premier League, and it’s a huge one at both ends of the league table.
With just four matches left of the Premier League season, it’s getting really tense at the top with Arsenal and Manchester City chasing for the top spot.
However, it’s the race for 17th place that’s in West Ham and Tottenham fans’ minds; it’s almost become a straight shootout for Premier League safety between the two London rivals.
If things go right, West Ham beat Brentford, and Spurs lose to Aston Villa, the gap between them and us could be four points. This would be a massive cushion going into the last three matches.
However, if they win and we fail to match them, we will be back in the relegation zone. While we would be much more likely to fight our way out of it, only being behind them by one point or on goal difference. We have Arsenal in matchday 36, while Spurs have a much more winnable tie at home to Leeds.
So, then if they beat Leeds and we lose to Arsenal, they would have a three or four-point advantage going into the final two matches, which would be a disaster.
Brentford away is probably the easiest game on paper we have until we play an already safe Leeds United on the last day, so we need to make sure we win this game, just like every game is a must-win between now and the end of the season.
