El Hadji Malick Diouf is being linked with an exit this summer and it highlights the requirement to get our recruitment spot on.

Of course, at present, all attention is on our Premier League survival with just four games remaining – however that hasn’t stopped summer transfer talk to surface.

It has been widely reported that Manchester United are keen on Diouf and are set to make a move for the Senegal international once this season concludes.

Although this could be a way for the club to retain others, Podcast host Dave Walker feels this is an example of why it is so vital to have a clear recruitment strategy in place with the right people, to enable the club to sell and replace players at ease rather than in panic.

“Good players are always going to be linked with a move away,” stated Walker. “This is why we have to recruit well, build around these players and compete for trophies. If we do that, we shouldn’t have to worry about losing anyone!”
