This weekend could be the one that sees West Ham take a massive stride towards safety, at the expense of bitter rivals Spurs.

Although it wasn’t too long ago that the prospect of the north Londoners felt almost fantasy, that has significantly shifted in recent weeks and that could well about to be more real for all concerned at that club.

Spurs’ form has been dire for a long time and West Ham on the other hand have been producing results of that of a side in the top 7 since early January.

Yes, it still is only 2 points at this stage, with the 2nd of those meaningless due to goal difference- however with 4 games left and with Brentford awaiting, West Ham can really ramp things up with a win this weekend.

Should Nuno and the players achieve another 3 points, that would make it a 5 point gap with Spurs set to face an angry and determined Aston Villa away on Sunday night.

If things to proceed in the manner that we and most of football hope for this weekend, then that could really spell the end for Spurs and would see them highly likely to drop to the Championship.

This is of course hypothetical at this stage, however both results wouldn’t be a shock. And West Ham playing first this weekend could be a huge advantage.

4 cup finals they say left – well if the next one is a win, then it may be the last that is needed in this incredible relegation battle and season.
