West Ham failed to capitalise on an opportunity yesterday to pile pressure on Spurs but now have handed them an opportunity.

Make no mistake, the pressure is firmly on the north Londoners and should they fail to take advantage, then it will be another swing – that is what West Ham will be praying for today.

The defeat to Brentford is one that has at present, sucked the life out of our relegation battle – and we now need it to return, which we need Aston Villa to provide later tonight.

Speaking after our loss to Brentford, Podcast host Dave Walker said we are simply now banking on Spurs carrying on their overall form – but nerves are undoubtedly kicking in severely.

“That result hasn’t done us any favours,” stated Walker.  “We can’t afford to lose like that, let’s hope Tottenham continue to lose and we pull ourselves together for the next game because that just isn’t good enough.”
