Nuno Espírito Santo has made one change to the starting lineup for a must-win match vs Newcastle this afternoon.
The one change Nuno has made to the team is the one most Hammers fans wanted to see, Callum Wilson will start.
While we’re all happy with Wilson starting it’s who he’s come in for that’s the problem. Instead of taking out a centre back and bringing in Wilson, he’s done a straight swap for Taty.
This means the Portuguese manager has stuck with the back five.
I really wanted to see us go for it from the start, obviously we can still do that with five defenders, but changing back to 4-4-2 would have shown more intent.
The five at the back worked against Arsenal, however, surely we won’t be under the same pressure against a poor Newcastle side
It’s a more than good enough side to have a chance of winning, so let’s hope we can get all three points and put the pressure on Spurs.
