It’s been a somewhat chaotic few days at West Ham, however the transfer window is fast approaching, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

It is widely expected there is to be a significant level of turnover in regards to players following our relegation and Ex has advised on the latest surrounding domestic midfield and forward options at this stage.

“In previous updates we have already mentioned Jordan James, the Welsh international who was at Leicester last season but is contracted to Ligue 1 club Rennes,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “He is said to be available for transfer for an affordable fee.

“Celtic’s Arne Engels is also firmly on the radar. The Belgium international caught the eye during their successful Championship winning team.

“We also know that Hayden Hackney of Middlesbrough was a top target but Everton and Nottingham Forest are said to be interested in the player making his chances of coming to the club less likely.

“We mentioned an interest in a couple of Cardiff defenders well whilst tracking them we have also developed interest in Rubin Colwill who is another Welsh international.

“We have already confirmed interest in Sydie Peck of Sheffield United for is only 21. He started his career at Arsenal and is a current England under 21s international.

“An interesting option who also had a loan spell and has return to his parent club now is Bobby Clark who was at loan at Derby County last year. He is 21 home grown but currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg. He is the son of former Newcastle and Sunderland midfielder Lee Clark. He is also at a reasonable price.

“We could also look to exploit the loan market and take some players from domestic clubs. Someone we have Ben continuously linked with is Joe Willock of Newcastle although he says he wishes to remain in the North East so the chances of signing him are slight.

“More realistic domestic loan options could be either Dario Essugo from Chelsea or Norwegian Sverre Halseth Nypan.

“West Brom’s Isaac Price is another who has generated a lot of interest in him although his side struggled in the Championship last season. West Ham have strong links with Northern Irish players and Price is another that fits a bill.

“There are other targets on the list but we will explore those at another point including a number of foreign based signings.”
