West Ham fans won’t want to shout it too loud just yet, but it does finally feel like a new dawn is upon east London.

After 16 years of utter mismanagement, lack of care, love or desire from a deeply unpopular board – it finally feels that West Ham are set for an era of the complete opposite.

Daniel Kretinsky has been waiting in the shadows patiently for years, knowing that Sullivan & Brady were doomed and it was just a matter of time before it all fell apart.

Well that time has now very much arrived, as the Czech billionaire gets set to acquire 52% of the club, as talks over buying out the Gold family shares near conclusion.

The move would effectively commence a hostile takeover of the club, from the grasp of David Sullivan, who last week resigned from his Chairman and board position, following harrowing revelations about his conduct.

Once Kretinsky has control, he is then expected to invest millions into the club, which not only will set the club up ahead of a very busy summer, but also dilute the remaining shares of Sullivan.

It could well be the case that once Sullivan opts to or is forced to sell his stake, the hundreds of millions he once envisioned, will likely be in the tens at most.

A somewhat fitting end to a man loathed in east London, as fans look forward to a new era and one that has the backing of a very serious player in the game.
