Daniel Kretinsky upping his stake in West Ham to 43% isn’t the only good news at West Ham this week.

The Czech billionare and Royal Mail owner has really impressed West Ham fans with his short but snappy quotes snd with some of the information that has come out.

The best one of these being that he says that we don’t have to sell our best players.

All we’ve heard about the transfer window is that we need to raise funds with rumours of us needing to make 150m from player sales all over social media a couple of weeks ago.

However, with Kretinsky coming in this might change, he’s investing his own money into the club to make sure we go straight back up.

He said: “”Our project is real and serious. Promotion is our only goal.”

This is all well and good, but we’ve heard promises that haven’t happened before under Sullivan, Kretinsky has to act.

I’m not expecting us to keep hold of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville, I don’t think any West Ham fan is. Not only are they way too good for the Championship, but they don’t have the connection to the club to make them stay like some others.

We are looking at getting around £70m for Fernandes, this would be the biggest Championship sale ever by a country mile. Yes selling him contradicts what Kretisnky is saying, but you have to apply context.

By this, he means we will keep the ones we have a realistic chance of keeping.

For example, if Sullivan was still in charge we would have sold like likes of Jarrod Bowen, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Catellanos, and Tomas Soucek, as well as Fernandes and Summerville.

If Kretinsky can keep those four players in the Championship next season alongside a few more signings, we would have to have a massive disaster to not get promoted back to the Premier League.
