West Ham are expected to announce the appointment of Steve Nickson as the clubs new Director of Football, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

As was convered on The West Ham Way Podcast earlier this week, Nickson was seen as a front runner for the position and now it appears the former Newcastle man is expected to move to east London.

In what will undoubtedly be seen as a sign of intent under the leadership of new largest shareholder Daniel Kretinsky, Hickson is expected to be taking on the very senior position as West Ham enter a new and exciting chapter.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex confirmed the news and also advised that there is a growing feeling that Amanda Staveley could be in line to purchase shares at the club.

“As covered on the podcast West Ham are set to announce the appointment of former Newcastle Head of Recruitment Steve Nickson to the same role at West Ham,” stated Ex.

“Like we also said on the podcast he had a very good working relationship with Amanda Staveley who has been rumoured to be interested in purchasing shares in West Ham.

“Nickson is yet to be officially announced in the role yet but this is expected soon, he will have to serve his notice before he can join West Ham.”
