West Ham are reshaping the club’s recruitment structure with talks to appoint Nils Coppen continuing, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Koppen has been one of a number of candidates that have held talks with the club, with it understood that should he move to east London, his role will be centred around recruitment of players, rather than running the football operation.

Mark Nobles role as Sporting Director will remain and will be key, as its intended he’ll work closely with Koppen, should he join, and Head Coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

“West Ham look set to appoint to a specific role around recruitment in the coming days with FC Copenhagen’s Nils Koppen West Ham’s preferred candidate, as we revealed,” stated Ex. “His title is likely to be something similar to a Director of Recruitment.

“The role will be slightly different to that of a Sporting Director. A sporting director covers roles such as contract renewals, academy transitions and player related issues which should fall largely under Mark Noble’s powers.

“If appointed Niles Koppen will work alongside Mark Noble and be overseen by Karim Virani. We will bring you more on this latest development.”
