West Ham are set to narrow down on targets this summer following the arrival of Nils Koppen, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, our insider advised on the recent links to certain players, as Ex has again revealed that progress on deals are not as have been reported elsewhere.

“The reason I haven’t reported the imminent transfer of Gustavo Sá from Famalicao is because it is no way near as close as was being reported,” stated Ex.

“Of course, there are obvious links; he is a player for Mendes’ agency, and our new assistant manager Rui Pedro Silva worked with him at F.C. Famalicão. Whilst there probably is some sort of interest in the player, it is thought that the reports have been used to try and encourage one of Portugal’s top three sides (Porto, Benfica, and Sporting) to make a move.

“I have also been told the reported offer in for James McAtee of Nottingham Forest is also wide of the mark. Whilst West Ham had previous interest in the player, and Nuno signed him for Forest, talks that he is close to a deal are also inaccurate.”

Ex though did provide an update on players we do hold a firmer interest, with Axel Disasi still very much on the radar, although it will not be an easy deal to pull off with understandably many other clubs keen on the Chelsea defender.

“We know the club are keen for Axel Disasi to return although there seems to be a lot of competition,” stated Ex. “We also know that it fair to say that Adeline of Troyes is also a key target and we have already told you about some of the other winger targets in earlier updates. One to potentially add to the list is South Korean youngster Kim Min-su who had a successful loan spell at Andorra Fc from Girona last year and has caught the eye of a few clubs.

“Looking further afield for other potential replacements for Fernandes an interesting player to have caught the eye is Ísak Jóhannesson. He was born in England as he is the son of former Leicester and Burnley player Joey. So would count as a domestic player, he also plays for Cologne so perhaps a deal involving Alvarez could be struck.

“A midfielder doing really well in Denmark at the side FC Midtjylland is Ecuador international Denil Castillo. He is an impressive physique and again only 22. We also like Darío Osorio the Chilean winger from the same club.

“Another player who has stared for Ghana in the World Cup scoring for his nation against Panama at just 20 years of age is Caleb Yirenkyi of FC Nordsjælland. He is another Ghanaian to have come through this route originally starting at the famous Right to Dream academy. The same path a certain Mo Kudus took. Although there are a number of top European clubs looking at his signature making it unlikely that we could pull that one off.

“As we have said we expect the net to narrow on targets next week and we will keep you updated on all the progress with these targets.”
