West Ham are looking set to appoint popular former goalkeeper David Martin as U21 goalkeeping coach, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Reporting exclusively on The West Ham Way Patreon, our insider revealed that Martin is set to return to his beloved east London club, where his Dad Alvin also played for many years.

“We believe that West Ham have been in talks about a former keeper returning to the club as the Under 21s goalkeeping coach,” stated Ex.

“There was some talk it could be Fabianski who recently left the club as a player. We believe however the front runner and person who will get the job is cult hero David Martin. The son of West Ham legend Alvin and the maker of 5 league appearances for the club himself, who spawned the chart “We’ve got a chance, Martin’s in goal” keeping a clean sheet on his debut at Stamford Bridge.

“Martin has gone on to forge an impressive reputation in the coaching world having worked at Ipswich and then most recently as Chelsea’s academy coach. We believe he just has to finalise his departure from Chelsea before being confirmed as West Ham’s under 21 keeper coach.

“We are delighted that he has decided to return to the club and congratulate the academy for this appointment.”
