Nuno Espírito Santo has named his lineup for the Irons’ first summer friendly of 2026 against Southend United today.
Hermansen, Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Scarles, Kanté, Earthy, Lamadrid, Bowen, Pablo, Taty.
It looks like the boss will go with either a 4-4-2 formation or a 4-3-3, with Pablo playing behind Taty as he often did during the second half of last season.
The side is unchanged from the team that played the second half of the Irons’ behind-closed-doors game against Colchester earlier in the week.
Captain Jarrod Bowen starts after recently committing his future to the club. West Ham will hope fellow starters Taty Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos follow suit this summer.
Among those on the bench are Alphonse Areola, James Ward-Prowse, Freddie Potts, Callum Marshall and Ezra Mayers, among others. Nuno is expected to make wholesale changes to his side at half-time.
Preston Fearon did not make the squad against Colchester, but starts on the bench today. The 19-year-old impressed during the Premier League Summer Series last year.
Jean-Clair Todibo does not feature in the squad, as he appears to be moving closer to the exit door. Likewise, Niclas Füllkrug and Maxwel Cornet, both of whom scored against Colchester, are also absent.
