A recent video posted by West Ham on YouTube has got the fans talking. 

The video posted by the club titled ‘Joel Piroe Gets To Work At Rush Green | Inside Training’, as the title suggests it was videos from training of Joel Piroe being welcomed and clips of the session.

But some West Ham fans on social media didn’t treat the video as some harmless clips, some decided to go full detective mode and realised something.

A lot of the video is focused on a group of ten players all traning together, those players were: Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf, Bowen, Ward-Prowse, Engels, Solomon, Piroe, and Taty.

Does that look like anything to you? To me and a lot of fans online, that looks like a starting lineup minus the goalkeeper. Could this be our starting line-up to face Charlton on Saturday? I wouldn’t rule it out.

Assuming Hermansen plays in goal, this team would have four changes from the side that drew 2-2 at Turf Moor. Diouf in for Scarles, Engels in for Orford, Ward-Prowse in for Kante, and Piroe in for Pablo Felipe.

Now three of these would make sense, Scarles dropped for giving away a silly penelty and losing his head, new signing Engels coming in for Orford, and new signing Piroe coming in for the injured Pablo.

However, Ward-Prowse coming in and starting over Kante would be a bit of a shock. In terms of a tactical standpoint it wouldn’t because Charlton will likely sit back and defend. You could probably rather have JWP trying to unlick a defence rather than Kante, but with 2 assists in 2 matches for the Frenchman it would be harsh.

It will be interesting to see if the ‘leaked’ lineup really is going to be the one we start with at London Stadium on Saturday, if it is it would be a bit silly from the media team, However, if that is the team Nuno goes with a lot of Hammers fans will be happy.
