Nuno has made a couple of suprising changes to the team to face Wrexham.

The Portuguese manager has made five changes to the starting XI as the Hammers look to regain their place on the top of the Championship.

The starting XI: Hermansen; Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman, Morato; Bowen, Mukasa, Engels, Solomon; Pablo, Taty.

Joel Veltman comes in at right-back, replacing Walker-Peters, who struggled once again at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Tuesday.

Manor Solomon returns as Edvin Austbø drops out of the XI. The Norwegian deserved his start on Tuesday after getting a goal and assist off the bench vs Derby. However, he struggled at times against Bolton, so the Israeli winger rightfully regains his starting spot, in my opinion.

Thankfully. Joel Piroe returns to the starting XI alongside Taty Castellanos who is back from injury. It was touch and go as to if he’d be fit enough to start, but he’s in!

The experiment of Pablo up top on his own, with Kanté playing off of him, didn’t work at all, so it’s good to see Taty back playing alongside the Suriname international Piroe tonight.

The biggest shock however is the inclusion of Morato at left-back. Scarles has been struggling so it makes sense to drop him, but with Adama Boiro signed as back up left back, to start Morato over him before giving him a chance is quite damming.

However, the big defender looked good when he came on at left-back in Bolton and he has played there previously, even under Nuno at Nottingham Forest.

The bench is looking slightly stronger than usual with everyone ‘fit’ except for Tomas Soucek.

However, unsurprisingly Edson Alvarez, Maxwel Cornet and Songoutou Magassa are still nowhere to be seen.

Come on you Irons!
