West Ham appear to have finally been given a green light to put forward a proposal to own the London Stadium.
In what has no doubt been the long term overall objective, it’s appears the fact we have seen changes at the top of the club – notably Karren Brady no longer there, appears to be a driving factor towards the change in direction.
To date, the London assembly and Mayor have batted away suggestions that a sale of the Stadium could be realised, however, it’s appears that stance has shifted.
In recent comments, the mayor has now opened the door to a potential deal, with the costly stadium likely to be something the assembly would like to see the back of.
I caught up with Gonzo today to discuss the current state of play.
Although it’s unlikely this is going to be fast moving deal – it’s certainly one that Daniel Kretinsky must now seriously consider as a long term ambition.
The fans are yet to hear from the new largest shareholder and likely to be Chairman – so could this opportunity be something that forms part of his long term aspirations for West Ham?
That remains to be seen. What is clear is that this opening of an invitation will undoubtedly show how ambitious the clubs new head of the table really is.
