The RB slot at the club is probably our most competitive position.

KWP – experienced now, could play in the lower end of the PL without a doubt.

Veltman – even more experienced than KWP and spent 6 years in the Brighton side who we’ve seen go from strength to strength.

But who should we start and why?

In my personal opinion, I think Veltman gets the nod. In a Nuno team that wants to defend first, no matter how many goals we have, we still can’t defend and need to start learning to! I think Veltman and his experience fits that bill perfectly. Having only really seen minimal amount of him due to rotation and a few niggles, I still believe you can tell he’s the number 1 choice.

As I say about his defensive qualities, he’s also capable going forward as he showed away at Bolton and setting up Bowen with a great through ball. Right now, and with age not on his side, I think Nuno will rotate between the pair, but when it comes to crunch time and crunch games, I only see Veltman winning this battle, and unfortunately KWP will miss out as Morato looks like he wants to be a permanent fixture at LB!

I do like Walker-Peters. I know some have their doubts, but last year he would’ve been my first choice over AWB all day long. I think he’s your modern-day version of a steady Eddie! And if Veltman weren’t to play, I’m always happy to KWP in there. I think he’s more capable going forward than Veltman and feel he has a really good partnership with Bowen.

With a 3-week break now underway and Swansea and Southampton coming up in our next 5, I expect to see Veltman in those 2 without doubt.

Between the pair, I think it’s the one place we are really well covered and shouldn’t have many problems should Veltman stay fit for the foreseeable.

It’s Veltman for me, but KWP isn’t far behind!
