Konstantinos Mavropanos was brilliant as Greece beat Germany 1-0 in Augsburg.

It’s been a very indifferent few days for some of the Hammers representing their nations in this new September/October international break; some had excellent, some disasters.

Two players who usually get called up, Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez, didn’t make their countries’ squads due to fitness and lack of game time. But there were still eight call-ups from those in and around our senior squad

Hermansen was on the bench as Denmark beat Wales 2-0, Edvin Austbø started in a 0-0 draw for Norway U21s against the Netherlands.

Manor Solomon had a nightmare weekend as he captained Israel to a 3-0 defeat against Ireland in Hungary, and what he said after the game in response to Ireland’s political actions could land him in trouble.

However, switching to the positives, Konstantinos Mavropanos’ fine form continues as his Greece side beat Jurgen Klopp’s Germany 1-0 away from home.

If it wasn’t for the heroics of Hull City goalkeeper and namesake Konstantinos Tzolakis, Dinos was a nailed-on for the man of the match award; he was a rock at the back against the Germans.

The biggest positive for a lot of us reading this as West Ham and England fans is the U20s side: Divine Mukasa and Airidas Golambeckis started in England’s 3-1 win over Italy.

Ezra Mayers and Fin Herrick were also called up to the same squad. However, Mayers didn’t come off the bench, and Herrick unfortunately had to pull out of the squad with an injury.

Divine Mukasa has actually been moved up to the u21’s for the rest of the break as a reward for his brilliant performances this season, congrats Divine!
