West Ham are in talks to sign Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

It is widely expected and reported that captain Declan Rice could well leave the club this summer, and questions have been raised who would the club move for should that be the case.

It was reported by our famed club insider and Podcast co-host ExWHUEmployee that the club were keen on Mexican international Alvarez, and now he has confirmed that talks are underway.

The club are keen to secure to midfielder from under the clutches of Borussia Dortmund who were said to be the front runners for his signature.

“We face stiff competition from the likes of Dortmund who the player is reported to prefer although this isn’t confirmed,” stated Ex on Patreon.

“West Ham have made their interest in the player known and further talks are expected.”

Furthermore Ex has given an update on Gianluca Scamacca, with our man-in-the-know revealing that the club are hoping for another season with the Italian at the club, with a view to possibly convert Max Cornet into a supporting striking option.

The club though would consider the sale of Scamacca should we recoup the outlay made last summer.
