West Ham tonight head north of the river to face bitter rivals Spurs with many expecting a tough contest for David Moyes’ side.

Although results of late have been positive on the whole, with 4 wins and 1 draw from the last 5 matches in all competitions, the performances have at times been questionable – therefore a much improved display is expected against Ange Postecoglou’s team.

Spurs on the other hand have struggled for results of late, with an injury crisis hampering their positive start to the season – however their performance in the outing against Manchester City last weekend has highlighted that they are still very much up to the task, and West Ham cannot afford to produced another indifferent display tonight.

The West Ham Way Podcast hosts Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee have given their thoughts on the game, with both expecting a tough encounter, although feel that if we apply ourselves correctly, then a victory can be realised.

“For once I don’t actually care how well we play tonight as long as we get something,” stated Walker. “It’s a tough game and we are going to have to soak up a lot of pressure.

“We need to keep focused, avoid individual mistakes, take our chances when we get them and be up for a fight.”

Ex shared Walkers view that a good performance is most definitely needed – however he also has serious concerns at our defending of late, especially against a attack minded Spurs.

“Tonight is obviously a very tough game and their system is likely to really test our shaky defence,” said our club insider. “Anything is possible in a London derby.

“I do hope that the players can turn up and give us a great performance to hopefully enable us to come away with something.”
