Prolific striker in France says that joining West Ham would be a “dream” come true for him.

The worst kept secret in football is that West Ham are eager to sign a striker this January, despite what David Moyes might say. Michail Antonio is past his best, Danny Ings has failed to adapt to life in East London and Divin Mubama seems too raw to get in Moyes’ starting XI.

A number of options have been discussed internally, and countless names have been put out there by various sources. One that has popped up time after time though is Montpellier’s Akor Adams. The Nigerian has scored 25 goals in his last 35 games, and is the third top scorer in Ligue 1.

West Ham are desperate to secure a fourth successive season of European football, and it feels like a top striker could really give them the push that they need.

While he denies any knowledge of the Hammers’ interest, he does confess that he would love to play in the Premier League at some point.

“To tell the truth, I haven’t thought about it and I don’t know anything (about West Ham’s interest). My mind is on Montpellier,” Adam’s told Milan News. “But for all young players, the Premier League is a dream.”

That life-long goal of playing in England is something that very few achieve, but it is an opportunity that the 23 year old would clearly snatch at. If West Ham were able to agree a deal with the French side, then it sounds like he would be more than open to a move to the London Stadium.

Our Irons have to ensure they avoid the mistakes they have made with their previous No.9s. A large majority of the strikers that have been brought in by the current ownership have not suited our system. Whoever the club decides to sign, they have to be the right fit this time around if we are to enjoy those special European nights for yet another season.
