West Ham assistant coach Billy McKinlay has admitted our Irons are in for a tough game on Tuesday whilst giving an update on injuries within the squad.

David Moyes’ side travel to Bristol City tomorrow night knowing its expected to be a fierce atmosphere for the FA Cup 3rd Round Replay, after the Robins earned a draw in the 1st leg at the London Stadium.

McKinlay though was immediately asked on the fitness of the squad when talking to the press, as reported by the clubs Official Website, with much anticipation in regards to the fitness of Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen.

“The game tomorrow, Lucas Paqueta is not available and the same for Jarrod Bowen,” said the assistant coach. “They got injuries in the last game and we’ll determine their availability for future games after tomorrow.

“We’re short a couple of players so we’ll have to make some changes. The players play a lot of games and the fixture calendar is congested, but that’s the way it is.

“Our players are certainly used to having this number of games and we’re delighted we’re progressing in so many competitions.”

McKinlay said that the team are fully aware of what we can expect when we head to Ashton Gate, with the home support expected to be in full force as they look to dump out a Premier League side.

“They’re a Championship team and it’s a really big game for them in that aspect,” said McKinlay. “We go away every other week in the Premier League and have to produce performances to get results, and it’ll be no different on Tuesday night.

“We’re going to have to play well and deal with the atmosphere which we’re looking forward to. We have to play in front of big crowds and big atmospheres in every home game as well, so that’ll add to the occasion I think, and we’re looking forward to the game.

“It’s a difficult game. We had no surprises in the first game. I think they’ve fully deserved their draw. We had some opportunities to probably increase our lead after we scored early, but the game was really difficult and going there it will be a full house, a midweek FA Cup replay and a big game with a good atmosphere, so we’re looking forward to it and we’re confident we can produce a performance that will hopefully put us through.”
