A journalist has claimed that the recent downturn in form has had little impact over David Moyes’ job security.

There can be no arguing against the fact that West Ham have been awful to watch in 2024. Not only are they without a win, but they have not even deserved one in the slightest. They’ve only scored 1 goal from open play and the dismal form reached its peak against Arsenal.

In fact, it was that 6-0 thumping that turned a lot of fans against David Moyes. For a lot of those supporters in the stadium it was too much to bear and by the time the full-time whistle blew there was barely anyone left in the home end.

Shockingly though, their third heavy defeat of the season has done next to nothing to damage his position as West Ham manager, according to Football Insider. They believe that his future is still within his own control and that he will be offered a contract extension.

Large sections of the fanbase would be absolutely furious if this was the case, with some saying that they will go as far as to give up their season tickets.

It is a difficult situation as, on one hand, football is a results based business and although things have not been going well recently, Moyes has brought nothing but success to the London Stadium. On the other hand, fans watch football to be entertained and, looking purely at the style of play, the last two years have been abysmal.

No matter what happens, it is going to be impossible to please everyone but if this form and the club’s heaviest home defeat in 61 years has not changed things at all, it really is concerning.
