Mohammed Kudus urges West Ham to bounce back following a “difficult game against Freiburg”.

Since joining West Ham from Ajax, Kudus has managed to produce a number of special moments in claret and blue. His late equaliser against Newcastle, his brilliant performance at home to Wolves and his sensational strike against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup are just a few times he has left fans in disbelief at just how good he is.

Unfortunately though, despite creating a number of chances, he was not able to help his side to victory in their Europa League quarter-final match against Freiburg. While the Ghanaian winger is disappointed with the result, he is “hopeful” of getting back to winning ways against Burnley as well as turning things around in the second-leg of the quarters.

“It was a very difficult game against Freiburg, and we’re all disappointed with the result,” he told WHUFC.com. “They scored a late goal to win it, in what was a very tight match. We had more energy after half-time and we went out to win, but we weren’t able to find that moment of magic.”

“I think we can do better defensively, and as well we need to play more, be better on the ball and create more chances. We know what we need to improve and we’ll be ready to go again back at home against Burnley.”

“We’re hopeful of being much better in the next game, and then it’s back to the Europa League where there’s still everything to play for. We believe we have what it takes to get the job done.”

With Wolves, Newcastle and Brighton all within touching distance of our Irons, as well as having an opportunity to go just 2 points behind Manchester United, there is no doubt that their clash with Burnley is just as crucial as their midweek hosting of Freiburg. Following that, they will complete a hattrick of home games in a week with Aston Villa visiting the London Stadium. If they pick up a good result in all 3 of those games, it would put David Moyes’ side in a prime position to make this their most successful season yet.
