West Ham youngster Sean Moore recently sat down with the club’s official website to discuss his time at West Ham so far, his hopes for the remainder of the season and the fact he is ready and raring to go in helping the U21’s make the remainder of this season a success.

Republic of Ireland U19’s winger Moore joined West Ham from NIFL Premiership side Cliftonville on a three year professional contract. Speaking about his move to the Hammers, Moore labelled it as “One of the best decisions I have ever made.”

The winger is versatile and is more than comfortable doing a job in the wing back position. His performances for previous club Cliftonville saw him named as part of the NIFL Premiership Team Of the Year.

Moore made his first PL2 start in December in a 5-1 win against Crystal Palace. His first goal for the U21’s came against Tottenham Hotspur and helped end Spurs’ unbeaten start to their league season.

Although earlier this season minutes were hard to come by for the youngster, Moore played his part in recent wins over Derby, Norwich and Brighton, speaking to the club’s website he expressed his delight at receiving regular minutes in recent games: “I think I needed this run of starts, so I am really happy to have started the last few games. It has been a good run of games as well for the U21’s. Yes we lost against PSV, which we were disappointed about, but there have been a good couple of wins around that match.”

Discussing his versatility and ability to play in the wing back position, Moore said: “Wing back is a good position and I have played there before for Cliftonville. It is something I am used to and it’s a position I’m playing in a bit more for West Ham because of the injuries we have.”

Speaking in regards to the remainder of the Hammers season, Moore told the club’s website: “It’s good that we have secured second place in Premier League 2, and we are looking forward to the knockouts now.” Going on to add: “We have one more game before the Play Offs, and hopefully we can go far in the Play Offs because we want to win the league.”
