Former Hammers striker and The West Ham Way columnist Tony Cottee has pleaded with David Moyes to start a player who is in form ahead of a huge fortnight for the club.

West Ham are set to commence a hugely important period of the season, with a trip to Molineux to face a rejuvenated Wolves prior to the visit of Everton at London Stadium at London Stadium the following week – which are seen as 2 must-win encounters for David Moyes.

Our Hammers though have started the year off in better shape, with back-to-back hard fought performances that have seen West Ham draw away with Leeds in the league and to then dispatch Brentford in the FA Cup, again away from home, to give hope that a turn in form is not far away.

Following the victory at the weekend David Moyes made a statement to the fans that he feels good times are not far away again, and there is no getting away that the pressure is very much on to deliver in the upcoming league fixtures.

A key player for West Ham this season, who again made the difference on Saturday, was Said Benrahma – who scored an exceptional goal against his old club to fire our Hammers into the 4th round to now face Derby County at Pride Park.

Tony Cottee believes that the Algerian international is a must-starter and Moyes must reward his good form with a starting place when we set up to play Wolves this weekend.

“Hopefully that goal gives Benrahma the start he deserves,” stated Cottee on Twitter. “In the next league game. What a finish that was!”

West Ham travel to Molineux this Saturday at 3pm. ExWHUEmployee will be providing team news in the buildup on Patreon with key players hopefully available to David Moyes.
