West Ham vice-Captain Aaron Cresswell has admitted that the club are now in a race against time to turn around a so-far dire season.

Our Hammers are currently in the relegation zone with only a mere 15 points achieved from 19 games played so far – 50% through a season that nobody could have predicted would have been this testing.

Results and more-so performances have been far below the expectation levels which have quite rightly put the long term future of manager David Moyes in question, with the weeks slipping by with little or no improvement on display.

Moyes’ vice-Captain Cresswell, who has been a mainstay in East London now since 2014, has admitting that West Ham have been awful this campaign so far, but has called on togetherness as our Hammers desperately battle to turn around this dreadful period for the club.

“We’ve been sloppy all over the park all season,” stated the West Ham left-back to the clubs Official Website. “That’s why we’re in this situation.

“We don’t want to be in this situation, we shouldn’t be in this situation on the back of the last two years we’ve had as a football club, but the reality is we are where we are, and it’s down to us to fight, to keep that spirit and keep believing.

“We’ve got to look forward to the next game and try to take maximum points over the next few games.”

Although the words are what normally you’d want to hear from a key voice in the club, there is no denying that talk is cheap too – with performances rarely reflecting the statements made by personnel within the club this season.

Fans want to see those words turn into performances, but there is now a growing feeling that unless changes to the management are made, this form will only carry on with the fear that time is now significantly running out.
