West Ham are reportedly set to battle London rivals for the signature of one of the highest rated talents in Europe.

There is no doubt that this upcoming transfer window is one of, if not the biggest transfer windows in the club’s history. Not only is there a good chance they’ll be looking for a new manager, but a complete overhaul of the squad is required.

With them already having the joint smallest squad in the league, you would say they need a minimum of 8 signings before the start of next season. Obviously, not every one of these players can be massive names with plenty of games behind them, they will need to bring in a mixture of experienced players and prospects.

The latter is always more difficult – it’s incredibly difficult to judge what players will be able to make it in the Premier League. However, someone who the club have reportedly had their eyes on is Semih Kilicsoy. The 18-year-old wonder-kid was linked with a move to the London Stadium back in January and, according to Caught Offside, they could battle Arsenal for his signature.

In just 20 games this season, the young striker has scored 10 goals and assisted a further 3 – unbelievable numbers for his first proper season of first team football.

Turkish clubs in general are in a bad way financially, but Besiktas are in an awful place, meaning they could be desperate to sell their most valuable asset. They are apparently demanding €30 million all told which is a decent chunk of money, but the potential you’re paying for could be worth that risk – he could genuinely go on to be one of the best strikers in the world. If Arsenal did beat the Hammers to his signature, then it really is one that could come back to bite.
