West Ham winger Max Cornet has been injured since October, however is edging closer to a potential return it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The summer signing from Burnley has been absent for a number of months since sustaining an injury to to his calf, and its been one the player has struggled to overcome, much to the frustration of all connected with the club.

However, there appears to be positive news coming from the club following the latest update from The West Ham Way Podcast co-host and ITK Ex, who has stated that the Ivory Coast international is set to resume physical training this upcoming week – in a huge boost for David Moyes.

Despite the positive news, there are still concerns however, with the injury carrying many question marks due to it complexity. Although the hope will be that Cornet can resume with no issues and be back available very soon as West Ham fight to get away from the bottom end of the table fast.

“We can confirm that the former Burnley player is due to resume physical on grass training next week,” Ex reported on Patreon.

“A top source still pointed out however that ‘It’s a very unusual injury and we won’t know if he’s over it until he plays games.’ The club are hoping that the series of injections that he has been having will have done their job and loosened his calf muscle.

“The club have a decision to make whether they bring in a like for like replacement in case he doesn’t recover or trust that the player is over the worst of his injuries now. With under a week left of the transfer window the club will need to make the decision on a couple of training sessions.”

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of Cornets return and all other club matters, including transfers as we approach deadline day next week on Patreon.
