Diafra Sakho’s fitness levels are improving every day.
“Diafra Sakho’s fitness levels are improving every day and he will start training in controlled U23 sessions on Monday. He will then join the first-team squad the following week”. This information was given today by West Ham Head of Medical and Sports Science Stijn Vandenbroucke. He also confirmed that “Andre Ayew has returned to full training and joined the group on Monday”.
Andy Carroll, Sam Byram and Gokhan Tore are all continuing their rehab.

Like me, are you wondering just how long it is going to take to get fit Sakho fully fit again? Or is it just a cover story to keep him out of the first team? Do we miss Sakho and will Slaven allow him a path back?
Numbers suggest Dimitri Payet can match his form of 2015/16.
This season, the Frenchman has chalked up a goal and four assists in five Premier League outings. He has also created 22 scoring chances for his team-mates – more than any player. Payet has also fired 19 attempts on goal. https://www.premierleague.com/news/123574
We all understand that Payet is class but do you think he can be even better than he was last year? Also, surely there will be rumours of him leaving again when the January transfer window is upon us. Will he stay or will he go?
Lanzini hopes this is the start of a good run.
Manuel Lanzini has stressed the importance of getting another victory against Sunderland at London Stadium on Saturday and hopes the Club can force their way into the top half of the table. Lanzini said: “I’m very happy and we needed the three points”. He also noted our home form and added “We will have to get used to playing at home and that’s what we want to do. I think we are improving and let’s hope this is the start of a good run.”
Just how good is Lanzini? Is he as good as Payet? Just how good a player do you think he can become?
After his behaviour and attitude I was quite certain I did not want or ever expected to see Sakho in a WHU shirt again.Indeed, that would have been the situation if his move to WBA had been completed ,But it wasn’t ! .AS it happens they identified a serious back problem ,which WHU surely knew about.?.That deal could have earned Hammers £15million and possibly resurrected Sakho’s career. The only way for him to do that now is for Sakho to prove that he is fit and by performing on the field. With Hammers attacking options stretched it would seem only sensible to put both differences aside and give him yet another chance. At least then if he wants to leave we can perhaps sell him in the new year window ,Or he can knuckle down, put all the sulks and sick notes behind him and seriously challenge or even win selection preference over the unreliable Andy Carroll.
2 Up front was mentioned as a possibility, how about Ayew and Zaza with Ayew just in front.
