Personal Information

EMANUEL MAMMANA

Age: 20 years

Height: 6 ft 1 in

Positions : Centre Back

Nationality: Argentinean

Current Team: Lyon

Background

Emanuel Mammana has had life tough having lost his Mother at age 6 and then losing his Father later on.

He was signed by River Plate in 1996, progressed through their Academy and impressed ever since.

Mammana started off playing midfield before moving to centre back which adds to his ball playing style.

Mammana signed for Lyon in the summer of 2016 and already has one full international senior cap to his name.

Style of play

Emanuel is a graceful Ball playing centre back who reads the game exceptionally well.

Composed in possession and consistent, Lyon were very smart in the market and have signed a gem in Emanuel Mammana.

8 million Euros is a bargain in my opinion for what he could be worth in the future.

Emanuel is my sort of centre back, very confident passer, doesn’t just kick the ball long, he is calm and always looking to help retain possession.

He will often make attacking players look silly with his silky turns and intelligence to shift the ball to retain it.

He times his slide tackles rather well, very concentrated and has great anticipation.

Perfect for Barcelona etc, he is quite quick also, athletic enough to not be caught out and his maturity is very impressive.

He doesn’t let pressure effect his game from what I have seen, never overawed by big occasions.

Having had a rough upbringing, which is something I can relate to….

I know it can mould you into a strong character which only adds to his performances.

He takes no prisoners and has skillful defending skills.

Physically he can improve, but he will, being young and can maybe play in the Premier League one day.

Certainly has the talent to succeed at the highest level.

What I like about Mammana most is his ability to take pressure situations and come out on top.

I believe Lyon signed Mammana thinking he could be the Umtiti replacement.

Be sure to keep an eye on this guy.
