West Ham face a battle keeping hold of Dimitri Payet in January, with his former club Marseille now set to make a big move for his signature this month. It is reported by L’Equipe that Marseille are hopeful of bringing him back in a deal worth up to €40 million (£34 million).
Of course, (Payet) recently admitted he would want to play for Marseille yet again. The Frenchman was speaking to SFR Sport in France when he confirmed he would be tempted with a move back to his former club Marseille and that he would not be closing the door on any future potential move away from West Ham. Marseille have money at present and are said to be looking into the signature of their former star.
Prepare yourselves for Payet transfer stories to appear many times during this January transfer window. And prepare yourselves again for the board to say that Dimi is not for sale! We will see what happens though; every player has his price and it will be interesting to see if any actual bids come in for him. I’m sure that Bilic nor the board really want Payet to go, but I am also sure that should a big transfer offer come in, there will be a point where we do sell him. Payet still doesn’t look like the player of last season either; I do wonder if he wouldn’t be disappointed if a move away materialised. Whether that will be this January or in the summer, only time will tell.
Let us know your thoughts about Payet. Will we sell? Do you think he wants to leave? Should we sell? What would be your selling price? Will we struggle without him in the team?
If he is still unhappy in the summer then sale him but for a high fee say 50 million to Marseille.
We need to make sure payet is happy to keep playing for Westham if he is not happy at Westham then we would have to say bye to him. A unhappy player means a unhappy team and we don’t need that let’s give him until summer transfer to progress I still have faith in payet and all the Westham boys coyis
