Hello Hammers, Here is a round up of the news this Monday Lunchtime.
West Ham are closing in on a £12m deal to sign Brentford striker Scott Hogan. (Mirror)
A great signing if we pull it off. He is a brilliant striker and could be exactly what we are missing.
West Ham will allow Sofiane Feghouli to leave the club this January, with Robert Snodgrass being lined up as his replacement. (Evening Standard)
Its a shame that Feghouli hasn’t had much game time because I think he is good, but if we can replace him with Snodgrass then I think it is well worth doing.
Moussa Dembele is better off staying at Celtic and learning, rather than joining West Ham and fighting the drop, according to Celtic captain Scott Brown. (Evening Standard)
Scott Brown is one of the worst players in football history. No one should really be too bothered about what he says in my opinion.
Ray Wilkins says West Ham must do all they can to sign Robert Snodgrass this month. (Football Insider)
I agree. Robert Snodgrass would be a brilliant signing for us. I would definitely take him for the right fee.
Jonathan Calleri’s move away from West Ham will be confirmed in the coming days. (Sports Witness)
He didn’t want to join us, and we didn’t want him either. Goodbye Jonathan, you won’t be missed.
Sam Byram will make his long awaited return to the West Ham team for this weekend’s clash against Crystal Palace. (Football Insider)
Finally we have a right back available. Hopefully he can reclaim his place in the team now, although I still think we need to sign another right back this window.
Big mistake to lose Feghouli. Would just like to add that as a life long whufc fan I am really optimistic about the future of the club. We have gone through owners that just wanted to sell all our best talent and then not reinvest in the team to Icelandic owners who very nearly wiped us off the face of the planet. We now have West Ham fans in charge looking out for us. Do they get everything right? No. But they have done a lot more than we give them credit for. As for the stadium, it has been a bumpy transition and I’m sure improvements will be made but it is a massive step up from the Boleyn. And to blame bricks and mortar for our on pitch performances is ridiculous! If anyone says about the atmosphere then they need to realise that it is down to every single supporter in that stadium to cheer and sing and create the atmosphere. We have made some shit signings in the summer but who didn’t? Sissoko, Janssen at spurs, Xhaka, Perez at Arsenal, Benteke at palace, Karius at Liverpool, bravo at city. Virtually every club brought shit in this season and for a lot more money than we did! We are West Ham and last season we performed way above average. This is still one of the best squads I’ve seen. We need to start getting behind the team the manager the owners and the stadium. Coyi
Thanks for the round up guys.
Snodgrass would be an excellent signing. His crossing ability is fantastic and with Carroll on the end of them there’s only one ending, Goal!
Feghouli seems to have the right attitude but hasn’t had enough game time. A good player but Snodgrass brings more to the team regarding end product which is what we’re missing.
Hogan looks to be a class finisher something we desperately need. Playing alongside Carroll? Hopefully…..
Thanks guys.

I think we really need two commanding midfield players (one a defensive) who are verbal and a centre back who talks to his back four.
The problem with going for Hogan, yes he is a great player in the championship, but have we seen the proof that will make him a success in the Premier League? 15 million is a lot of money for what I see as a gamble taking him in and putting him in a side that’s struggling for goals. As we all know he will be up against the best of defenders. I’ve watched him a few times and he is a good finisher, but he does get caught offside more times than he has a shot on goal. We need a player of Premier League experience sat up top. Defoe is the realistic target we want but Sunderland won’t budge losing their star player. Ashley Fletcher is a cracking player I think he should get some more game time. Martinez is proving his worth that should give him some game time too.
Feghouli is a strange one this season, he has the qualities to be a great player for us, but he’s been hit by a long injury plus the form of Antonio hasn’t helped him. On the other hand, when you put him in the group of players we signed over the summer, you can also say he’s not performed when he has played. If we do sell him on, the money for him has to go towards a right back. My ideal candidate would be Bacary Sagna. Experienced at the highest of levels, reliable and a very good player defensively and attacking.
