Darren Randolph says he is impressed with the leadership that Jose Fonte is showing in training. (Express)
I am glad to hear this. A leader is something that have missed for parts of the season, and I am happy that we have signed someone who is a natural leader. I cannot wait to see Fonte play for us.
Robert Snodgrass is to have a medical and discuss personal terms with West Ham today, as he has chosen the Hammers over Burnley. (Sky Sports)
He is another player that I am excited to see join us. His set piece delivery is brilliant and he will provide brilliant service for our strikers to put away chances.
Dimitri Payet is now refusing to play for West Ham’s development squad. (Express)
Please just hurry up and leave us. I do not want him at West Ham anymore and the sooner we get the money for him, the better in my opinion.
Tony Cottee has predicted where he thinks West Ham will finish in the league this season. (HITC)
I agree with Tony here. I think the European places are just a bit too far out of our reach now, but I would definitely settle for finishing where we are now.
Brentford must offload Scott Hogan to West Ham, in order to sign a target of their own. (Inside Futbol)
Well lets hope we sign Hogan quickly then. We just need Slaven to agree to the move and then he is ours. Hogan is a player who would be the perfect partner for Andy Carroll up top, and I really hope we sign him before the deadline.
Dimitri Payet will take a pay cut if he joins Marseille before the end of the transfer window. (Independent)
So now we have another right sided attacking option. I am unimpressed and actually bewildered by this signing, especially paying 7m and probably increasing to 10m for a player of his age. So where did the ‘buying them young’ policy disappear? Who makes these decisions? If it is the same authority and influence that brought us Feghouli, Calleri, Ayew, Tourey and ZaZa I suggest we dispense with his or her services forthwith. Regrettable as my spelling of their surnames! What w really needed was pace and inventiveness on the left … a player who would demand the very best of those playing off him, and someone who (like Payet at his best) can unlock defences. While on the subject f Payet, I agree we should just cut our losses. He was always going to look for greater opportunities and the club has always been mindful of this. Hence Ayew signing to pamper to his wishes and million pound loyalty scam. The board should have been prepared for this and we should have had a selling strategy in place that would bring two or three really good young prospects in based on the profit made. Long term thinking based on how we incrementally grow stronger while enhancing rather than damaging the club’s reputation.
