Hello Hammers, here is today’s lunchtime round up.
Manuel Lanzini says he is not feeling the pressure of filling the void that has been left by Dimitri Payet. (Sky Sports)
He has been playing so much better since Payet left, and he is now seen as the main man. We have to build the team around him now, and I think if we do that then we could be in for an exciting future.
Mark Noble has been given a weeks holiday by manager Slaven Bilic. (Daily Mail)
He needs a rest. He just has not been good enough this season, and he probably needs the break. I am hoping to see Kouyate and Obiang in midfield together, as I think that is a very promising partnership.
Jonathan Calleri says he would move away from West Ham ‘tomorrow’ if he could. (Sports Witness)
I would help him pack his bags if need be. None of us want him at the club because again, he just is not good enough. I will be happy to see him leave in the summer.
Michail Antonio was yesterday included in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad. (WHUFC)
Congratulations to Michail, its fully deserved. Hopefully he manages to actually get a game this time though.
Slaven Bilic has got himself involved in a row with Reading boss Jaap Stam. (Teamtalk)
This is all over Recce Oxford, and I think it is a stupid argument. I can’t wait for Reece to get a shot with us next season. He has such a huge future ahead of him.
Mark Noble says social media trolls can ruin the careers of younger players. (Evening Standard)
I agree with Mark, but it is part of the game nowadays unfortunately.
This whole Slav vs Stam thing could be handbags at dawn or just a miscommunication. Slav explained that Reece had an injury when he went there and that could be down to the player not being fit. I’ll be going to check out Reece at Reading in a couple of weeks so be interesting to see how he plays.
About Noble…whilst we know there are a lot of event seekers at games these day, there are also a lot of very knowledgable fans too, so he should’ve chosen his words more wisely. Trolls are everywhere too over social media, but just because people are saying negative things about his performances, it doesn’t necessarily make them trolls. By the same token if people start saying positive things, it doesn’t make them Noble’s biggest fan either. Can’t have it both ways and should just learn to ignore what’s being said or take note and try to improve, but not a great idea to slate fans for their opinions.
Lanzini is nowhere near as good as payet, our team is shocking without him. Our midfield is terrible they don’t know what to do with the ball. Time is up for noble, he is a dinosaur in our midfield, We have a defender as a manager, and we cannot defend. And we play a winger up front. Bilic is not the man, he had payet in our first season, to save his bacon, now he has gone it’s all gone Pete tong for a second rate manager.
