Hello Hammers. Here is today’s lunchtime round up.
Manuel Lanzini has said that he is very happy at West Ham. (Evening Standard)
My point has now been proven. I said that Manu loved the club and that has been confirmed. Manuel Lanzini is the future of our club, and I expect him to be here for a long time.
Tony Cottee says he believes that Jermain Defoe would prefer a move to West Ham this summer. (Sky Sports)
This has been known for ages now. He wants to join West Ham over anyone else this summer and I will be very surprised if he isn’t our player next season.
West Ham striker Diafra Sakho is set to work on regaining his fitness throughout the summer. (Sky Sports)
I think we need to just get rid of Sakho now. He is too injury prone and has a poor attitude, so it is best that we get rid.
Sir Trevor Brooking says Pablo Zabaleta would be an absolutely perfect signing for West Ham. (Evening Standard)
I think he would be a great signing. As I have previously said I would have preferred someone younger, but Zabaleta on a free is still a great deal. He has a winning mentality and he is a proper leader, so having someone like that around the club can only be a good thing.
West Ham have held talks with goalkeeper John Ruddy, who was recently released by Norwich. (HITC)
I honestly do not understand this, because Ruddy is not as good as Adrian or Randolph. Surely one of them will be leaving if Ruddy ends up joining us. I believe that we should be looking at much bigger names than Ruddy, if we are looking to strengthen that position.
Slaven Bilic has made some comments that could spell the end of Andy Carroll’s West Ham career. (HITC)
I really hope Carroll stays with us. I know he is injury prone, but the guy is quality on his day. People may disagree with me, but its my opinion. He is worth keeping in the squad, purely because of the impact he has when he plays.
Im sorry but I struggle to see why singing Zabaleta is a good singing, I could give you 100 reasons why it would be a bad singing- yes hes a winner and experienced but hes 32, his legs are clearly gone pep has chosen to play NAVAS at right back over him recently- not to mention he will be earning 100K I repeat 100K!!! I think only ayew is on that at west ham at least hes in his prime, I accept that’s what you need to pay for top quality players but not players looking for a final pay day- this is just a typical west ham singing and its ridiculous I thought we was past this- full backs have been shown by clubs such as spurs how important that position and you need pace as masuaku has shown so how is singing a 32 year old with no legs solving that- rather than actually going out there and scouting up and coming right backs we take the lazy cheap approach rather than spend 10-15 mill on someone younger and with a point to prove- when was the last time you saw an everton- Southampton- spurs when they was building the team they have now go out and give players of this age these stupid contracts! Look at our most recent sinigngs Fonte- Snodgrass all players reaching the end of there carers giving them stupid over paid wages when they don’t even improve the side! There is no plan at this club when It comes to buying players.
