Just when you think things couldn´t get any worse, West Ham have a way of just showing the world that yes it can. I had a lot of optimism going into the Everton game and by the end I was astonished that we had managed to put in a performance like that, especially after an improved performance against Leicester. Maybe the West Ham way being what it is, means that we will now go on and win our next 4 games. Somehow I doubt it.
Manchester City have been going great all season even managing to win games without trying it seems. They have top class players in every position including the bench. and probably some sitting in the stands. Kevin de Bruyne has been a delight to watch this year and it looks like it´s going to take something incredible to stop them. Enter West Ham. Currently top of the Premier League with 13 wins already since a draw with Everton back in August. Nothing it seems can stop them and people have already mentioned its when and not if they win the league.
Way down in 19th position and behind even Crystal Palace. West Ham seek to put an end to a dreadful run of results in what has been a terrible start to the season. Beating City will not even lift us out of the relegation zone. But i´m not thinking of getting 3 points from this game, any optimism and hope I had left for this season went up in smoke Wednesday night.
John Stones and Benjamin Mendy will miss the game with injury and Guardiola has mentioned that he may rotate the squad with a lot of games coming up as well as a Manchester Derby coming up soon as well. Lets face it they are in a great position to change their line up against us and still feel confident of winning. Could their be a bit of over confidence? Doubt it.
West Ham United are having a bit of an injury crisis at the moment with Collins, Fonte, Carroll and Hernandez all missing from the squad while Joe Hart gets a rest as he is unable to play against his parent club. Winston Reid has also been ruled out and Mark Noble is injured with a hip complaint. Some good news is that with Hart missing, it gives Adrian a chance to play and see if he can reclaim his shirt. I think he might be in for some practice.
Predicted Teams
Manchester City : Ederson, Otamendi, Kompany, Walker, Delph, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sane, Sterling and Aguero
West Ham United : Adrian, Zabaleta, Cresswell, Rice, Ogbonna, Obiang, Kouyate, Fernandes, Lanzini, Masuaku, and Antonio. Subs: Trott, Johnson, Arnautovic, Ayew, Sakho, Quina, Martinez
Obviously it´s going to be a tough game up against one of the leagues best teams, who are playing a great brand of football. But there is no reason why we can´t go there tomorrow and steal a 0-1 win. (ha ha ha sorry) I think Moyes will try and go for a point, as many other managers have tried and failed to do this year at the Etihad stadium. I think he will play players that are not overly know for their flair in a bid to hopefully kick City´s best players out of the game. I´m not going to predict a score only that I can not see us getting anything from the game, while they will probably score 3 or 4 goals and it will be on to the next game…Chelsea
