Jonathan Lee > A thoroughly deserved three points and an impressive 22 attempts on goal (although only 4 on target); our European push is still very much on track.

Fabianski – 6.5 very little to do but made a very good save low down second half and actually made a very good block first half notwithstanding a penalty had already been awarded;

Coufal – 8.5 arguably one of his best performances this season, getting forward regularly and putting in a perfect cross for our first goal, also made a vital block just ahead of Rodriguez firing wide second half;

Diop – 6.5 had a torrid first half at times with a long ball over the top catching him out for the penalty conceded, but stepped up his game well second half with several good clearances;

Dawson – 7.5 a rock at the back and never beaten in the air, important clearance off the line from Vydra towards the end of the first half and much better than his last couple of performances;

Cresswell – 7.5 a welcome return and skipper for the night, always willing to get the ball forward and steady in defence;

Soucek – 8 unfortunate with mistimed challenge to concede the penalty but that apart put in a solid shift and won the ball back a number of times;

Lanzini – 8 playing in an unfamiliar CDM role he turned in a very impressive display, especially first half, showed us what we’ve been missing from him;

Benrahma – 8 another who had an excellent first half, providing the assist for our second and unfortunate not to see a curled effort creep in at the far post, also saw a lot of the ball second half but final pass was often disappointing;

Fornals – 8.5 a colossal shift put in, winning back the ball to start the build up to our first goal and instrumental in starting many of our second half attacks, looked a class act (also, take a look at him celebrating our first goal, just a joy to see);

Lingard – 7 involved in build up to both goals and regular neat interplay with Lanzini, Benrahma and Fornals although never quite reached the heights of previous games, unlucky to see a late deflected shot well saved by Pope;

Antonio – 8.5 from the first minute chased down everything and took both his goals ever so well, somehow mishit a great chance to grab a hat trick from close range and curled an effort just wide with Pope well beaten.

Subs:

Bowen (78 mins for Benrahma) – 6 added some late energy and one good run won a free kick to wind the clock down.
