We are delighted to announce that our Pre Match Events have returned after being stopped since March 2020 due to Covid.

The sixth event of the season will be hosted on Sunday 9th January at O’Neill’s in Leytonstone before the Leeds United cup game. The event will be from 10:15am-1:15pm, allowing plenty of time to get to the game. O’Neils is a 5 minute walk from Leytonstone station which is 2 stops away from Stratford on the Central Line. The venue also has adequate parking if you wish to drive and leave you car there or drive onto the game. The venue is kitted out in West Ham kits, posters and memorabilia. There are screen showing classic West Ham games and goals. We have DJ Pulse on the decks (Dave Walker) and it is all you can drink on selected alcoholic drinks. The feedback we have received for each event has been amazing and I am sure this will be the case again.

For our sixth event of the season we are delighted to welcome a West Ham legend and former FA Cup Winner himself, Alvin Martin. A scouser by birth, Alvin joined the academy  in 1978 from Everton and went on to make over 500 appearances for the club. He was also capped 17 times by England. He became only the second person after Billy Bonds to be awarded two testimonials. He played in a League Cup final in 1981 and was part of the 1986 team who finished in our highest ever league position of 3rd.  Martin left the club in 1996, 18 years after joining the club. He famously scored a hattrick against three different keepers in 1986.  Having been through a couple of relegations and promotions with the club, he eventually left us in 1997 to join Leyton Orient before managing Southend. Alvin was back in the headlines with the club when his son David, made his debut for us in an amazing win at Chelsea and went on to play in a couple more games after that. Alvin will be able to talk to us about the successful teams he was in and how they compare to the current crop that his son plays with.

Our location is O’Neill’s in Leytonstone which is a spacious, comfortable venue that has a state of the art sound system and a large projector showing footage of classic games and goals. . For those driving to this event, there is also a generous amount of parking spaces available at no cost and the venue is easily accessible from the A12, M11 and M25.
