Declan Rice has spoken of his desire for success on the pitch and has reiterated his stance that he is fully committed and focused on West Ham. However, this came with a stark warning that he is also hungry for silverware.

The England midfield star and academy product is regarded as one of the best in the world and therefore, creates plenty of speculation surrounding his long term future as a Hammer.

He has stressed that all the gossip is simply noise at this stage and this applies to others within the squad.

“You’re constantly reading stuff about myself, Bowen and Lanzini, constantly reading stuff about players,” said Rice.

“If you’re performing well and there are big clubs around, there is always going to be stuff circling, but I never read too much into it or believe anything until something actually happens.

“For me, it is just all noise and I’ve got to stay focused on what I do for West Ham —  which is to perform week in, week out and try and be the best player, because that is what I want to be.”

Despite the positive message that the focus remains on West Ham, there is no doubt that Declan’s words are etched with warnings to the board and management.

Rice is a player with big ambitions to match his talents and it’s clear that to retain his services, West Ham need to match that drive for success.

“I’ve grown up as a kid seeing all these top players win the big trophies, Premier League and Champions League,” added Rice.

“As a football fan and player I want to win the best stuff, I want to win the Premier League and lift that trophy, I want to win the Champions League and I want to win the FA Cup, League Cup, stuff with England. I want to win it all. As a footballer, if you’ve not got that ambition, why are you playing?

“I want to have those experiences of winning trophies and being the best I can be.”
