Declan Rice was quite rightly furious with the atrocious decision by referee Andrew Madley to deny West Ham a point at Chelsea.

The referee ruled out an injury time equaliser by Max Cornet but decided that the Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy was fouled in the buildup.

The call can only be described as shameful by the officials with yet another example of the terrible standard of officiating that is engulfing our game.

Declan Rice was eager to be careful with his words but still couldn’t hide his disgust in yet another blow orchestrated by Premier League officiating.

“Obviously, the main talking point is the disallowed goal,” said the Irons captain to the media after the match.

“We’ve looked at it back as a team, and I can’t say too much because if I say what I think I’ll get fined.

“How you can go over to the monitor and think that’s a foul, it’s an absolute disgrace!”

West Ham will be looking to put the incident behind us all and fast with a Europa Conference League clash on Thursday against FCSB followed by Newcastle at home on Sunday.
