West Ham boss David Moyes has received a very positive lift ahead of our London derby clash with Fulham.

West Ham have a relatively injury-free squad, with only Nayef Aguerd and Max Cornet the notable players currently on the treatment table.

Cornet picked up a thigh injury in last weekends 2-0 triumph over Wolves at London Stadium, and there was a fear the summer signing could be sidelined for a few weeks.

However the initial concerns were alleviated following a scan, with the winger in line for a possible return against Southampton next week.

ExWHUEmployee first broke the positive update on The West Ham Way podcast this week, with David Moyes also confirming when speaking to the press.

“We think he’s got a small calf strain,” said Moyes. “I don’t think it’s as bad as maybe we first feared, but it’s still gonna keep him out for certainly a few days.

“Hopefully, he’s back next week, but we’ll need to see how he is.”

The news will come as a welcome boost as our Hammers look to continue the recent turn in results, having won our last 2 competitive matches against Wolves and Anderlecht respectively.

Cornet is an exciting option for Moyes to have at his disposal, with the feeling that once he gets a decent run of games he’ll solidify himself as a key man for our Hammers side.
