A newspaper report has suggested that West Ham are in talks to bring in a new chief scout who has previously worked with David Moyes.

The Sun have reported that Mick Doherty, who worked with Moyes at both Everton and Sunderland, is rumoured to be making the move having left previous club Celtic in July.

ExWHUEmployee has reported on The West Ham Way Podcast that at this stage the deal isn’t close and a top source said “they were unaware of any move at this stage”.

Of course Moyes would be happy to work with his form colleague, but it seems that at this stage any move is not on the current agenda.

The news comes on the back of our current Academy manager Ricky Martin looking set to make a move to Stoke City as Technical Director.
