Max Cornet has unfortunately suffered a setback on his recovery from injury that has kept the winger sidelined for a few weeks.

The summer signing from Burnley who suffered the calf injury against Wolves almost a month ago, has been on a recovery programme which would have seen him return imminently, however sadly Cornet has suffered a blow which will delay his return.

Our man-in-the-know ExWHUEmployee confirmed the news on Patreon and this was also advised by manager David Moyes who stated that the Ivory Coast international will be sidelined further meaning he’ll miss the ‘next few games’.

This is a huge blow for the winger as he looked to regain his starting role in the side, however the form of Said Benrahma will mean that it is likely the Algerian international is going to be relied on more so now with the news of Cornets recovery setback.

West Ham though have been boosted by the recent news that Nayef Aguerd is stepping up his recovery from a serious ankle injury, with the £30m summer signing in the squad to face Silkeborg on Thursday night, with the defender a strong contender to start.

In other positive news, Lucas Paqueta is also available for selection having recovered from a collar bone injury.
